We have little in the way of details of the life of R.J.H. Lloyd
From the little we have it is clear that he had an interest in the fishing fleets of West Wales and of his family history. he spoke to the Society on the topic of South Wales Seamen and Fishermen on two occasions and presented a paper in the Transactions on Bristol Channel Pilot Cutters. This interest was continued in other journals such as "The Mariners Mirror" in which he wrote on: -
- 1954 - The Mumbles Oyster Skiffs
- 1955 - Aberystwyth Fishing Boats
- 1958 - Tenby Fishing Boats
- 1959 - The Swansea Fishery (1775)
He also wrote on his ancestry with a paper entitled "Henry Leach (1770-1848) Collector Of Customs At Milford" in the Transactions of the Honourable Society of Cymmrodorion, and a book entitled "The Lloyds Of Pls Cilybebyll from Leach of Castlemartin, Pembroke and Milford."
In his professional career I have not tracked down much detail other than he took over from Archibald Henry Lee 59th President, as Secretary of the National Museum of Wales until his retirement 1972
