Edgar T. Shepherd was a long standing servant of the Society. As an accountant he held the post of Hon. Treasurer for many years, but even before this had assisted in that role.
From the report of the Photographic section in Volume LXXXV of the Transactions in 1956 it is noted that: -
The Section are greatly indebted to Mr. Edgar T. Shepherd for presenting a beautiful Bronze Statuette of two horses, for competition, to be known as the Edgar Shepherd Trophy. The Edgar Shepherd Trophy was won by Miss W. Cooke.

This trophy is still in the Society collections and is shown above. In 1966 he was elected as an Honorary Member of the Society
During the Centenary Celebrations dinner in the Assembly Room in City Hall in 1967 A presentation was made to Mr. Shepherd who retired after having been Hon. Treasurer for many years; the Society's grateful thanks were expressed to him by the President Sir Cennydd Traherne.

His Presidential address was entitled "A Fleeting Glimpse of Part of North America".
